                      MEMBERSHIP

08/09 Season Membership

It was unanimously agreed that to prevent the problems we encountered when we were in Europe a few seasons ago, people would be required to pay a deposit of £30 in advance as part of their membership fee.

This £30 will be used to order a ticket for matches where there is a short time between the draw being made and the match taking place (as little as 2 weeks in some cases) as there is not always time to wait for cheques to be posted, deposited in our account and then a cheque sent to the supporters club for our ticket order, this will enable us to pay for our tickets when we place the order with the club. Once used, the price of the ticket must then be paid to keep the deposit at £30 for the next ticket order. At whatever point the European venture ends then the £30 deposit can be returned.

This will be applicable to all adult members only, Junior members will not be required to pay the deposit.

Therefore the membership fees for 2008/2009 season will be £35 for adults and £3 for juniors, and is due now.

No tickets will be ordered for any matches for anyone who has not become a member.

BRANCH HISTORY

The A34-Winchester Branch was a founder member of the newly-formed Manchester City Centenary Supporters Association(MCCSA) back in 1994. We broke away from the Official Supporters Club (OSC) in a row over a vote of no-confidence motion in the Chairman at the time, Mr Peter Swales.

Some of us at the time were members of the Wessex Branch of the OSC which covered most of Hampshire & Dorset. The branch was split over the motion & were 'encouraged' by the OSC hierarchy to dismiss the motion in a show of togetherness!

The Wessex branch, as a whole, eventually ended up following the advice of the football club & dismissing the motion. Some of us left the branch to form a new branch.

The 'breakaway' group were given assurances by the newly formed CSA that we would still be in a position to order match tickets through the club and we would remain 'Independent' to voice our concerns, when necessary, as a supporters group. About 10 branches, (some large & some small) left the OSC at the time to set up the CSA.

Since those days the A34-Winchester Branch has steadily grown and currently has a membership of approx 50 Hampshire based blues who meet regularly & travel together to City games all over the country.

Previous meetings have seen guests such as Uwe Rosler, Willie Donachie, Kevin Keegan and current City manager Stuart Pearce provide question and answer sessions for branch.

The Branch have also had the opportunity to meet the first team squad prior to a Portsmouth away game during Kevin Keegan's reign as manager and this season (06/07) prior to the Watford away game.
