 (i) Next Branch Meeting – AGM 08/09

As all Branch Members are aware there was concern over the future of the Branch next season following Andy Zuill’s and Lance Macklin’s decision to step down as the Chairman and Ticket Organiser respectively, however at the April branch meeting it was decided that we would proceed next season and a final decision on who would be chairman and ticket organiser at the AGM.

Therefore the next meeting will be the AGM and will take place on:

Monday 2 June, 2008
at The County Arms Public House, Winchester at 8pm.

All Branch members are requested to attend and they are also reminded that membership fees will be due at this time.

(ii) A34 Branch Fantasy Football League

Congratulations to Tony Laycock, who has won the Branch Fantasy Football League (again). The Final League can be found on the Fantasy League page of this website.

The following members also entered a team in the “King of the Kippax” league. Their final positions are detailed below (the league consisted of 55 teams):

Stuart Hunt       (9th)
Andy Zuill          (25th)
Carol Surey       (34th)
Cheryl Zuill        (39th)
David Zuill         (51st)
Steve Webster (53rd)

(iii) Points Total

See the Points Total page of this website for the final points total for all members for 07/08.

If there are any early season matches where the demand for tickets is high (e.g. potential EUFA cup matches if City claim a place via the Fair Play League) the points system will form the basis of allocating tickets.

If any Branch member wants a full breakdown of the points table, please contact the Chairman by e-mail.

                                                 CSA News

  1. CSA 5-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT: This will be held at the Platt Lane Complex on Saturday 14th June. To date only 4 teams have entered. All branches wishing to enter teams should contact Alex Channon. Entry is £10-00 for CSA teams and £20-00 for non-CSA teams. Cheques must be made payable to MCCSA and forwarded to Alex Channon, Penalty Spot, 81 Milner Street, Swinton, Manchester M27 4AS.

  1.  Away Kit: The question of the design of away kits had been raised by supporters, at a meeting attended by John Wardle, and that supporters should have a say in the design and colour. John Wardle promised to raise this at a future boardroom meeting. The chair would also contact Paul Tyrrell & Alistair mackintosh on the same subject.

  1. New Branches: We have a new branch in Australia and several new overseas branches had started up in 07/08, with further enquiries from outside these shores from people who are considering setting up new branches. In contrast to this the CSA have no new branches locally or nationally.

  1. Mascots: The CSA expressed disappointment that despite several requests for mascots we have been turned down on the premise that there is a huge demand from the corporate people. The CSA Chairman would continue to press for mascots for next season.
